It may be good to have a dumping ground for things going on at USC that may not warrant their own thread, but are good to put out there. So when current parents like myself (and many others on here) get an email from the administration, or anyone sees an article about something USC, there is a place to discuss some of this random/unexpected information. For example, the recent changes to financial aid, or other policy updates that can be important but short lived, and often get buried in the class of 20xx Applicant thread. Or just random rumors/thoughts/views/comments that don't fit elsewhere. Not sure if it will be that active, but it could be for things that could affect both current students and/or applicants.

Hi there! It's understandable that you're concerned about the competitiveness of transferring into USC Viterbi. While I don't have the exact transfer acceptance rate specific to Viterbi, I can tell you that the overall transfer acceptance rate at USC was around 23% for Fall 2023. However, keep in mind that the acceptance rate for the engineering school might be different and potentially more competitive. To increase your chances of success in transferring to Viterbi, here are some suggestions: 1. Strong academic performance: Put your best foot forward and excel in your current coursework, especially in prerequisite courses and major-related subjects. Aim for a GPA of at least 3.7, as USC emphasizes strong academic credentials for transfers. 2. Complete required courses: Ensure you've completed the necessary coursework for your intended major at USC Viterbi, as listed on their articulation agreements or transfer guides. This demonstrates your commitment and preparation for the program. 3. Articulation agreement: If your community college has an articulation agreement with USC, it can increase your chances of a smooth transfer. Check with your counselor to see if such an agreement exists and follow the academic plan outlined in the agreement. 4. Extracurricular involvement: Show your passion for engineering outside of the classroom. Participate in relevant extracurricular activities, research projects, internships, or clubs that complement your chosen major. 5...
