Chris Jericho Says AEW Is An Option For Becky Lynch

In an interview with TMZ Sports, Chris Jericho was asked if AEW could be in Becky Lynch's future. He said:
“It's very important because the best thing that ever happened to pro wrestling in the modern era was AEW existing... That's what happened when All Elite Wrestling started when Chris Jericho signed there. Suddenly, everybody's getting these huge raises in WWE right not to come to AEW. Tony Khan, our owner, owns the Jaguars. You know, they have a lot of money in the family, so he can play that game all day long. And that's why we brought in Will Ospreay, Mercedes Mone, and Kazuchika Okada. You mentioned Becky Lynch. Five years ago, Becky would have no other options. [I'm] Not saying that she's coming, but there is an option. And who knows what could happen? You know, no one thought that Jericho would come to AEW, no one thought that Moxley would come, or Bryan Danielson, or Adam Cole, or any of these guys that have come over. So it's exciting for the fans. And it's exciting for the wrestlers and the talent because now, suddenly, there's a bidding war that benefits us... The possibility is there." (h/t WrestlingNews.co)

Would Becky Lynch Leave WWE For AEW?

Chris Jericho is right that anything is possible, but it's hard to imagine that Becky Lynch of all people would ever leave WWE. Not only is her husband, Seth Rollins, still there, but she has been with the company since 2013 and, in that time, has made history as a mult-time champion and a WrestleMania main eventer. She's arguably the biggest women's wrestler of all-time, so for her to give that up for AEW, who is struggling with attendance and ratings, and doesn't do a great job of booking their women's division, seems unlikely.
A recent report from Wade Keller of PW Torch said:
"She is not, according to what she’s telling people in WWE, going to AEW imminently. Instead, multiple sources with insights into her situation indicate she is taking a hiatus. We are not aware of whether this is to spend more time at home and take a break from the grind or if it’s out of frustration with her contract offer from WWE."
Becky Lynch could use a break, but she is also worth whatever she asks for. Let's hope we see her back in a wrestling ring soon, no matter who it's for.
